Welcome to the Artist Series: By Mathew Rice
Matthew Rice has created 7 art series where he has successfully worked with oil paint, acrylic paint, inks, pencil, spray paint, digital photography and watercolors. He is always open to new mediums, as they are deemed fit for the mood and inspiration of his pieces. As Matthew Rice continues to grow and develop as an artist, he will continue to experiment with different mediums to achieve the desired result for each of his original pieces.
The Blu Series
The Mateo Blu series draws upon raw human emotions that are best reflected by artist Matthew Rice by using the dominant hue of Prussian Blue. The series was inspired by the challenge of unlimited expression within a limited medium. This series expands the realms of thought, emotion and expression.
When the series is completed it will include 15 abstract paintings.
The No Child Left Series
No Child Left brings attention to our youth's current conditions, past problems, and their outcry for a true resolution in America's education system. This series was inspired by Matthew Rice's experiences as a former student and current volunteer in the Baltimore City school system. This series inspired the creation of The Blu Art Foundation, which focuses on providing arts education to children in low income communities.
This series will continue to develop into multiple art forms to include poetry, music, photography, short stories, and children's books. A special No Child Left collaborative book will be released in 2012.
The Athletic Series
The Athletic series captures the creative core within athleticism, where Matthew Rice expresses his experiences as a professional athlete through his artwork. There is the same level of excitement captured within one's favorite sporting event shown in every stroke of colors and patterns. Matthew Rice gives human structure, X's and O's, uniforms, fan fare, and the love of the game a Mateo Blu Art spin.
The State of Blu Series
The State of Blu series is an abstract depiction of the legendary Penn State Football team. Matthew Rice creatively recreates his memories, emotions and experiences through an abstract depiction of Penn State athletics and his love for the game.
The Growth Series
The Growth series is an exploration of Matthew Rice bearing his creative soul by allowing issues, steaming from global to internal, to flow through his God-given talent onto the canvas. This series represents the importance of stepping out your comfort zone and achieving the freedom of the breakthrough.
The Abstract Series
The Abstract series dives into Matthew Rice's journey to deepen his creative style and thought process. The realm of abstract art has no end and there is freedom to escape the limitations of human speech, expression and emotion. With that being said, there is no limit of expiation for this series, there are still many colors, patterns and forms not yet discovered.
The WorD Series
The WorD series showcases Matthew Rice's insights as he stiches them together with abstraction. Inspired by life's constant ebbs and flows. One of his favorite forms of art and inspiration are poetry, rhyme and definition. You will find quotes and words that evoke inspiration and motivation, for you to create your own story through your own experiences. This series will expand into a Mateo Blu Fashion series and be integrated with the works of fashion and interior designers.
